The unit comprises of four levels, spread over 16,500 sq/ft and includes:
• Patient Reception
• Administration
• 31 Haemodialysis Stations
• Training Facility for Peritoneal and Home Haemodialysis
Baxter Healthcare is supplying equipment and drug compounds for the operation of the renal unit. Baxter were awarded the contract after a lengthy tender process. A Just-In-Time (JIT) consumable system will ensure timely supplies to each patient. This system provides a streamlined distribution service which significantly reduces waste.
Baxter will have an engineering presence on-site at all times to service and maintain the renal equipment under a quality assurance programme. All equipment details are maintained in an equipment log and this is always available for inspection at the unit.
WATER TREATMENT
Water treatment and testing is in accordance with AAMI standard (Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation and ISO 13959 (Standard for Water for Haemodialysis and Medical Therapies). |
